How it should be done

This is how a projector should be mounted to a ceiling. The channel rails are attached at each end to a steel girder and then bolts are used to take any lateral movement out of the rails. This minimizes any movement caused by vibration and keeps the projector image steady.

Active board 300 series

The blank canvas for an install of the 300 series. Similar to the 100 series but this model has built in speakers on the side of the board. It is also powered by way of a power pack and not by usb with the 100 series.

This community centre supplied all their own equipment. We are quite happy to install pre-purchased equipment as well as providing alternative solutions.

Training day for the boys

Had a informative morning today. Epson sent one of their reps today to give us a demonstration and overlay of the capabilities of their projectors. We were shown the basic fault finding procedures, how to utilise all the menu features and basic maintenance. Most of this was second nature as we have extensive experience with projectors.

The most interesting thing was the ability for remote monitoring of their units. You can observe everything from unit temperature, lamp hours, any faults that occur. You can also programme the units to power up or down at a specific time of the day and vary each day as needed per classroom. Remote access also allows the full access of the unit for everything from keystone to brightness and contrast of the units image so certain minor problems could be solved over the phone.

Obviously for primary schools this feature would be extremely useful if the school had Epson units throughout (no biase towards a product here!!). Those schools with say even half a dozen units I think would benefit from this as early indications of problems would be very helpful. Best of all the software for this is free.......
